Evaluation Part Five - New media technologies used in research, planning, construction and evaluation stages:

Evaluation Part Four - Audience Feedback:

Evaluation Part Three - Combination of our main product and ancillary texts:

The first and main effective piece of style and branding we used across all three texts was the typography. It was important to have the same text style running across the three in order to brand the artist. As you can see we have the main title of the artist at the top, along with the name of the album. Then again more important information in the same typography like what features in the album and the website that is avaliable to the public. We then had our guitar appearing very often in our video too, this was to match our artists personality being very in to his music.
We planned this out from the beginning to what our artist likes and what would be suitable to add in our video and our other three texts. As you can see from our plan we took other things into consideration, such as, the colour scheme that would match and other aspects like the weather and props such as leaves. This was all useful when it came to actually making our products it made it easier to know what we were heading for. We also at this stage looked at other artists in order to brand our artist in the right way. This helped us know how to address our audience in terms of genre.

One of our main inspirations was Keaton Henson as his style in terms of music, props etc. helped us a lot, in terms of how we can appeal to our audience. We saw through all three of his products he had same colour schemes and typography, which is why we thought too it was a vital aspect to carry out. From the representation in this picture you can automatically tell that this artist into playing guitar which also runs throughout all his songs. So this would be an important prop to show in order to make sure his audience know what he is interested in and an instrument that runs throughout his work.

As you can see from our digipak and magazine advert we had the theme of leaves with the same colour. This was to keep the same appeal consistent throughout the products. When we planned out the colours we kept them the same running throughout and also as I mentioned before the guitar too was an important feature to run throughout the texts because it was a main prop to represent our artist.

Evaluation Part One - The Breif:

The brief that we worked towards for our three main products was Breif Number One - Music Promotion. Our aritst Carl Hauck, we found him on Unsinged.com under alternative music. We seeked permission straight away from him after listening to his songs and he had contacted us back within a day.

We also thought that to thank for him letting us use his song and also giving us the song free of charge we would have a special thank you, which we did add at the end of the video. The genre of music we wanted to go for was Acoustic/indie music because we had initial ideas before we partnered up, so it was a specific genre that matched with our ideas. All that was left was for us to find an artist that connoted this in their music. We did originally have an artist called Erick Baker and this song 'Comfort You' we thought would go perfect with our ideas we had in mind. However, it did not work due to it being quite hard to recieve permission back over the six weeks we gave him to reply. Therefore, as an alternative we found Carl Hauck and we were more happier having the permission and support back from the artist.
Carl Hauck has throughout his songs a sense of belief and escape which is what my partner and I thought would go well with ideas we came up with. We wanted to clearly dennote this in the video through the song about the artist being able to escape through his music. From listening to the song we started branching our ideas to what would suit the artist from our prespective and other artists that were similar. We used a pinterest board to carry this out and became useful in terms of explaining to our audience what they were going to see in our video.
